Winter Wonderland Wedding at The Clubhouse at Patriot Hills

It truly was a winter wonderland wedding here at The Clubhouse at Patriot Hills on Saturday January 7, 2017.

There was no sign of snow in the forecast when Vanessa and John dropped by earlier in the week to bring all their wedding décor. Vanessa had said to us that she hoped for a little bit of snow and her wish came true! The snowfall that day/night made the wedding even more magical than we had imagined it would be!

After the ceremony, we kicked the party off with an awesome cocktail hour, which included lots of food, drinks and music of course!

Signature Drinks:

Sex on a Snow Bank (instead of  sex on the beach):

3 tbsp. of coconut cream, 1/2 oz. of coconut rum, 6 large ice cubes all blended together and rim the glass with some yummy coconut flakes!!!

The Cold Fashioned (instead of an Old Fashioned):

1/2 oz. dark rum, 1 tsp. simple syrup, 2 dashes of bitters, muddled orange peel and an orange peel for garnish!!!

Vanessa and John had chosen all champagne linen to go along with their winter themed wedding, which helped bring out the beautiful centerpieces from one of our recommended florists – Basset Flowers and the snowflake lighting from MSV Entertainment! We turned our complimentary blue up-lighting on and lit some votive candles to help set the ambiance.

About a month before the wedding, we met with Vanessa & John to help choose their wedding menu for their 4 course Sit Down Dinner included in our Diamond Package. Their guests were served a Portobello Mushroom Bisque with Truffle Oil and Chervil for the First Course, which was perfect for this snowy Saturday!

Second Course was a Peppery Arugala Salad with grapefruit, aged asiago and shaved fennel topped off with a citrus vinaigrette.

Guests had an entrée choice of 3 to choose from the night of the wedding.

Selections included:

Prime Top Sirloin Filet “Au Poivre”

Classic Chicken Picatta

Sesame Seared Salmon

Last, but certainly not least, delicious Cupcakes & Pies from our favorite bakery – Homestyle Desserts!

Breakfast With Santa

‘Tis the season to be jolly! And last weekend we had the jolly old man in the bright red suit himself at The Clubhouse at Patriot Hills. For the fourth year in a row, we were honored to host the annual Stony Point Breakfast with Santa. As guests enjoyed a hearty meal, one-by-one the children made their way to old Kris Kringle. The excitement on their faces as they sat on his lap to share their Christmas wishes was absolutely priceless. While the holiday is still ten days away, these lucky little ones didn’t have to wait until the 25th to receive a gift. Each one went home with a present given to them by Santa himself.

We wish everyone a wonderful holiday season!

Bergen County Couple’s Beautiful Wedding at Our Venue

Kristin and David took the short drive from Bergen County for their magical wedding at The Clubhouse at Patriot Hills. The couple had a whimsical bicycle themed reception, which we featured in our last post. We just received some additional photos from their photographer Anthony Ziccardi Studios we wanted to share as well. They captured the happy couple, their beautiful, delicate cake, yummy cider donuts, and Mr. and Mrs. decor.

A Beautiful Bicycle Themed Wedding

For wedding couples who like to go biking together, a bicycle theme is a fun way to personalize a wedding. There are so many ways to incorporate the theme into your celebration – from favors and wedding cake toppers to invitations and place cards. Last weekend we had a wedding couple who chose a bicycle theme for their nuptials. The theme did not overpower the decor, rather it was tastefully showcased as guests arrived. They were welcomed with a sign placed on a vintage style banana seat bicycle.

Once inside, they found their seat on place cards with a bicycle motif, which were placed alongside a pretty floral arrangement that was sitting inside a miniature bicycle.

For the Love of the Game – and Each Other

Last weekend Rick and Shanna combined a display of their love for each other and the game in a fun sports themed wedding – and they hit it out of the park. In lieu of traditional place cards, as guests entered Patriot Hills they were greeted by game time lineups inside of window panes and an adorable photo of the bride in groom in baseball jerseys.

Those jerseys were then displayed at the reception for all to see.

The sports theme continued with a whimsical cake topper.
